She is a dubber of Chinese media company StarTimes. In 2016, she won a dubbing contest in Tanzania and got an opportunity to work at the headquarters of StarTimes. Malecela saw a movie of Jackie Chan in college and wanted to be engaged in film and television industry. After graduation, she became a dubber. The Swahili-dubbed Chinese television dramas in Tanzania provided a channel for Malecela to learn about Chinese culture. Besides dubbing, Malecela also learnt some skills about television in Beijing.
