TOKYO, March 1 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar stayed in the upper 106 yen zones Thursday in Tokyo as market players remained cautious over ups and downs of global stock markets.
At 5 p.m. local time, the dollar was quoted at 106.80-81 yen compared with 106.62-72 yen in New York and 107.07-08 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. Wednesday. It moved between 106.55 yen and 106.87 yen during the day.
The euro fetched 1.2200-2201 dollars and 130.30-34 yen against 1.2190-2200 dollars and 130.03-13 yen in New York and 1.2223-2224 dollars and 130.87-91 yen in Tokyo late Wednesday afternoon.
