TUNIS, April 18 (Xinhua) -- Tunisia and Egypt are experiencing an "exceptional phase" in their bilateral relations, marked by a push to strengthen trade and investment ties, Tunisian Foreign Minister Mohamed Ali Nafti said on Friday.
Nafti's remarks, reported by Tunisian National Radio, followed a meeting in Tunis with Egypt's Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty.
The Tunisian minister stated that a "new chapter" had begun in boosting economic cooperation, particularly in investment and commercial exchange between the two North African nations.
Abdelatty affirmed Egypt's keen interest in expanding its investments in Tunisia, the report added.
He also highlighted the significance of the sixth session of the Tunisian-Egyptian Joint Committee for Trade and Industry, held in Tunis earlier in the week. That session concluded with agreements aimed at enhancing bilateral trade and investment cooperation. ■
